Local Farms Fresh Produce Program - Hallie Crawford

Local Farms Fresh Produce Program This is cool. My friend Sarah told me about a local farm in her area that drops off seasonal, fresh produce to a drop off location where she can pick it up on designated dates. Then I read about it in Body and Soul magazine so I have to try it. The farms will either allow you to harvest your own produce or collect it from a drop off location. You get a variety of fresh, locally grown, seasonal organic food often for less than the price you’d normally pay for organic produce at the store. Plus you’re supporting your community and receiving seasonal produce which is much fresher and sometimes completely unique to your region. You can find a local farm at their web site. Go to LocalHarvest and type in your zip code. Their spiel: The freshest, healthiest, most flavorful organic food is whats grown closest to you. Use our website to find farmers markets, family farms, and other sources of sustainably grown food in your area, where you can buy produce, grass-fed meats, and many other goodies. Enjoy! 7 principles to develop toughness and build the life you want

7 standards to create strength and fabricate the existence you need 7 standards to create durability and construct the existence you need Try not to hold up until everything is perfect. It will never be great. There will consistently be difficulties, snags, and not exactly flawless conditions. What of it? Begin now. With each progression you take, you will develop more grounded and more grounded, increasingly gifted, increasingly more self-assured, and increasingly effective.? - Mark Victor HansenAt our center, we all are hoping to create and develop in the four parts of wellbeing: mental, enthusiastic, physical and profound. Every part impacts the other, which implies they have an associated relationship. Every day, as we gain ground and expand upon our center, we get more grounded, progressively sure and more intelligent. We get TOUGHER.There are a variety of definitions out there about what intense signifies. Dreadfully regularly, it is given a negative undertone. Sturdiness is characterized as, solid and strong; not effortlessly broken or cut; equipped for incredible continuance; durable. Think about that - fit fo r extraordinary perseverance. Solid and sturdy. Aren't those characteristics you're searching for as you form into the lady or man you want to be?Mentally, we would like to get unflinching, submitted and positive about our way to deal with regular living. Inwardly, while it's in every case great to be defenseless and kind, it's similarly as essential to be brave, reliable and confident despite dread. Profoundly, connecting with what makes us what our identity is isn't simple. It requires some investment. It takes steadiness and continuance through testing individual battles. And truly, it's essential to build up our muscles and take great consideration of the vessel that empowers us to explore this excursion called life. Individuals who take fantastic consideration of themselves are extreme - they're ready to withstand life's scratches, scratches, knocks and wounds. They power through misfortune and disappointments and on to victories.I've invested a great deal of energy training and working with high-achievers and top-performing groups. I've driven them with an end goal to help build up the delicate abilities, enthusiastic insight, distinguish qualities and shortcomings and empower them to forward leap and expand upon the two triumphs and disappointments. I've discovered that extreme individuals aren't brought into the world that way - they begin as a notorious piece of marble and are etched into a refined, incredible work of art.Life isn't simple, yet you never quit. Never. I might not have been the best, yet I can generally put forth a strong effort. That is the means by which you show strength. - Jay BilasA phenomenal book was composed on the point by Jay Bilas, a previous school and professional b-ball player and current examiner. The eponymous title, Toughness, investigates the manners by which we would all be able to develop, create and get harder to succeed. I chose to remove the most worth I could from his book and my involvement with training superior workers, and combined it here for you to understand.I think you'll locate these 7 standards will transform you and are relevant to all of us. I summarized a portion of Bilas' focuses and represent how we can create durability and live on our terms.1. Buckle down that you need to restThe world's best individuals lecture about the estimation of contemplation and getting a legitimate night's rest. We as a whole need to rest. Our rest and day by day reset should come after we've tested ourselves and given each ounce of ourselves to working for our every day objectives. Give your closest to perfect to each assignment before you. Also, give your best to your folks, spouses, wives and youngsters, too.Maximize your yield in the entirety of your chances and relationships.2. Finish what you've startedOne of the most widely recognized strings in why a few people don't feel satisfied in their own and expert lives is extremely basic: they begin on something and neglect to wrap up. Consider it - what's the point in that? The characterizing normal for each high achiever is that they finish what they've begun. They either achieve an errand, arrive at an objective, or relinquish course for a more shrewd, better alternative.3. Concentrate with assurance on the assignment at handMulti-entrusting, while engaging, DOESN'T WORK. Try not to trust me? Take this from the Cleveland Clinic:The neuroscience is clear: We are wired to be mono-taskers. One examination found that simply 2.5 percent of individuals can perform various tasks viably. Also, when all of us endeavor to do two complex exercises all the while, it is essentially an illusion. You're developing and getting harder when you center with each ounce of focus on what you're doing in that moment.4. Support yourself and empower other people who work with youThis is straight out of the Dale Carnegie (of How to Win Friends and Influence People distinction) playbook: Encourage the individuals around you, commend their successes an d compliment them on their prosperity. Be that as it may, prepare to have your mind blown. Do something very similar for yourself! Positive idea support empowers us to control through affliction and testing errands, driving us to triumph and triumph. At the point when you are truly self-roused and urging to other people, you are an individual that will continue pushing ahead. What's more, everybody needs to associate with that person.Failing doesn't make you a disappointment. Bombing makes you a contender. Each contender comes up short. On the off chance that you lay it on the line, you will miss the mark on occasion. Disappointment is a piece of contending, and grasping that reality is a significant segment of strength. Intense individuals fall flat, however extreme individuals are not disappointments. The main disappointments are the individuals who surrender, or yield. - Jay Bilas5. Be aware of progress in your life - and change all around youAs John F. Kennedy once stated, Chang e is the law of life, and the individuals who look just to the past or present are sure to miss what's to come. Change is unavoidable. It's continually desiring us, searching us out whether we run, cover up or grasp it. So be alert. Be aware of new chances. Be aware of ways you can expand upon your triumphs, and moreover how to gain from your defeats.6. Assume liability - own your words and actionsYou need a surefire approach to come up short? Reprimand others for your words and activities. Rationalize and decline to take possession. Reject obligation and shift responsibility elsewhere to another person. Those are the characteristics of an individual that nobody needs to work with. Also, in case you're looking for independent work or enterprise, you would be savvy to address this before you start any imminent venture. It begins with you. You will cause huge walks throughout everyday life, to suffer when others flounder and keep developing when you acknowledge obligation in all sorts of challenges. Continue onward with a champ's mentality. Champs are intense and consistently responsible for what they state and do.7. Have one fixed target - show signs of improvement each dayIf you're attempting to figure out what your enthusiasm, reason, strategic, of achievement or objectives are, if you don't mind let me remind you to begin with this extremely basic goal: Get better each day. You have the opportunity. Peruse one section in a book to gain proficiency with another expertise. Hop rope for 10 minutes to build your cardiovascular wellness. Go through 10 minutes in care contemplation that permits you to ponder what's generally significant in your life.Write a little diary passage about your emotions, what moves you and what motivates you. These things take a little measure of time. Every one of them can be cultivated with negligible speculation. And every one of them will start shaping the exacerbating impact of helping you to improve and show signs of improvement ev ery day. Durability is a valued quality among the most upbeat and effective individuals. Go on, you're much harder than you think. You Can Do ThisJoin my newsletter and check out my book, The Value of You. This will give you inspiration to begin anticipating accomplishment on your journey. This article first showed up on Medium.

Their examination prompted Sandberg's subsequent book, Option B, on how individuals have recuperated from difficulty and loss.Sandberg noticed that her excursion towards versatility isn't novel, refering to the Virginia Tech shooting in 2007.We are not brought into the world with a certain amount of strength â€" it is a muscle and that implies we can assemble it, she said. We assemble it together, as a network. That is cal led 'aggregate strength,' it's a unimaginably amazing power â€" and it's one that our nation and our reality need much more of the present moment. It is in our associations with one another that we discover our will to live, our ability to adore, and our capacity to bring change into this world.A basic practice to recollect your delight each day Sandberg said we can fortify our strength through shared encounters and through shared narratives. These activities don't need to be colossal to be important, she noted. QA - Adam Sopher, Co-Founder, Joe Novhs Gourmet Popcorn QA Adam Sopher, Co-Founder, Joe Seph’s Gourmet Popcorn Image Source: Adam Sopher / Joe Sephs Gourmet Popcorn.“My  headmaster closed down a tuck shop I was running  from a locker in my classroom because it was undercutting the school shop!”The snack brand is one of the UK’s big startup success stories, and if you think that popcorn is a simple snack, you’re in for a huge surprise…Joe Sephs has a range of more than 40 flavours, and the search for innovative flavour combinations is never-ending. Salted Caramel and Gin Tonic are two of the more conventional Joe Sephs flavours! It’s with product innovation such as this that Joe Sephs has positioned itself on the cutting edge of the European popcorn revolution, which is part of a huge sea change  in consumption  of and demand for bagged snacks on the European  side of the Atlantic. In 2016,  The Telegraph noted that in the UK alone there had been  a £3.3bn spend on bagged snacks during  the previous year. This demand is echoed throughout Europe, and Joe Sephs is well positioned to capitalise on it, stocked in more than 2,500  outlets across 19 countries. With approximately a quarter of its multi-million pound revenues being generated from exports, Joe Sephs, which also manufactures a range of caramel sauces for use in home baking, has ambitions beyond the EU.As Adam Sopher revealed to AGENT: “Our ultimate mission is to be recognised as the producers of the best-tasting popcorn and be available in stores all over the world.”It’s an extraordinary position to be in for a family firm established in 2010  by a mum, dad and son partnership whose primary gourmet popcorn product was  dad Joe’s own recipe.Even when used on family occasions, Adam Sopher knew the popcorn  was “unlike anything else you could get in the UK”.The speculation turned into hard fact after the Sophers tested the product at a trade show, and sold out their batch within two days. Adam Sopher left his job in retail and joined his mum and dad to establish a  business that, seven yea rs on, holds  such a commanding position in the bagged snacks sector.Image Source: Adam Sopher / Joe Sephs (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); 11  Questions for Adam Sopher of Joe SephsAdam Sopher firmly believes that young entrepreneurs starting out in business should ask more established operators for advice, as anyone who has been through the startup mill is more than happy to pass on advice. In that spirit, Adam  agreed to answer AGENT’s questions, telling  the story about  how he came to be a director in one of the UK’s most successful startups and many other aspects of his life in business. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); 1.  Briefly tell us how you first  got into business, and describe your business goals. My Dad used to make this amazing popcorn for friends and family, which was unlike anything else you could get in the UK. After taking early retirement, he wondered whether he could make a business out of it. At the time I was workin g for Dixons Retail, after three  years at Deloitte as a consultant. I was getting ‘itchy feet’ in  my job, and decided that if we could prove there was a market for gourmet popcorn in the UK, then I’d leave my job and join the family business with my Mum and Dad.So one day, we decided to trial it at a food show and it was a great success â€" we sold out in just two  days! That’s when we realised we had a business opportunity and Joe Sephs was born. Our ultimate mission is to be recognised as the producers of the best-tasting popcorn and be available in stores all over the world.2. What age were you when you realised you wanted to run your own business?Since school, I’ve been pretty business-minded and entrepreneurial. My first realisation of this was when the headmaster at my school closed down a tuck shop I was running  from a locker in my classroom because it was undercutting the school shop! (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); 3.  Who are your business icons and inspirations?Richard Branson and Steve Jobs are both really inspirational.4.  What has been your biggest challenge in business, and how did you surmount it?Our biggest challenge, particularly in the early days, was proving that there was a market for a premium popcorn in the UK. At the time we launched, the popcorn category was dominated by large, packaged popcorn brands in supermarkets and cinemas that was either sweet or salty. We sought to disrupt the market with a premium, flavoured popcorn focused on taste. Obviously this meant that buyers were taking more of a risk with an unproven product, but we overcame this by relentlessly sampling the product at shows and in-store to give people the chance to try it. Generally, once people tried our popcorn they appreciated our better tasting, innovative flavours (including Gin Tonic) and packaging. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); 5.  Work-Life balance: is it possible? How do you achieve it?Yes; it’s impo rtant to be strict with yourself when working in a start-up. When you love what you’re doing and there’s always so much going on it’s easy to get carried away and work 24/7, which is what was happening when we first started Joe Sephs. I’m pretty guilty of being glued to my phone and checking my emails all hours of the day, but I’m getting better at giving myself time away to completely switch off. This year I went to Australia for three  weeks over Christmas and New Year, which was a great chance to refresh and come back with a clear head in January.6. What is the first thing you do every day?Boring answer, but I check my emails! With the export side of the business, a lot of our customers are in different time zones so there’s always stuff coming in overnight. I have a strict rule of always eating breakfast to set me up for the day. I used to be terrible at this, but working with my Mum every day it’s not worth the argument! (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []). push({}); 7. What screen saver picture is currently on your phone? My girlfriend and I on holiday in Australia.8. What is the most important app on your mobile phone, and why?Twitter.  It’s the first app I check in the morning and last one at night. I love interacting with all our popcorn fans, because without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today! (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); 9.   What  is the last thing you Googled?‘Food labelling laws’. We’re in the process of updating our packaging so there were a few details I needed to check!10.   What item do you never leave the house without, and why?I am incredibly reliant on my iPhone for emails, social media, Dropbox, and phone calls of course, so I never go anywhere without it. A  bag of popcorn accompanies me all the time as well! I never know who I may bump into on the way to meetings or when I’m out and about, so I make sure I always have a bag, ready to hand out. If it’s not needed, then I tend t o eat it on the way home anyway! (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); 11. What advice would you give to your younger self starting out in business?Ask more questions. People from smaller businesses in particular are generally really happy to help, because they’ve been in a similar position. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.Image Source: Adam Sopher / Joe Sephs
